Malik "The Sheik" Bebee

MARTIAL ARTS HISTORY:
Sensei Malik began his Martial Arts quest privately as a teenager by reading Karate Magazines and books. He always wanted to be like those guys on the covers and on T.V.! At the age of 16 Malik started formally studying American Kenpo Karate in Ambler PA. He studied for about 3-4 months before having to quit, but vowed to one day continue his training somehow.

At 18 he met a guy named William Rufus. "Rufus" as everyone called him was the Manager of a 7-11 Store in Malik's neighborhood. Little it be know he was also a Kung Fu expert. After several late night conversations about Martial Arts at all kinds of hours of the night, Sifu Rufus finally suggested that Malik take up Martial Arts training under him. Midnight shift behind the counter, in the freezer section and over the coffeepot burners became Malik's training areas. This is how Malik was introduced to Professor Bennett and Sensei Bill.

Shihan was visiting the Glenside Dojo and Sensei wanted to introduce him to his training partner Sifu Rufus. This was the meeting that would change Sensei Malik's life forever! Sifu Rufus was so impressed by Shihan's comments on training & life that he suggested that Malik begin his studies under Sensei Bill directly. "Shihan probably doesn't even remember me even being there!"

From that time on, in addition to his training with Sifu Rufus, Malik began his journey into the world of TAIKENJU-RYU. Sensei Malik is proficient in many martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Kenpo, Jujutsu, Taijutsu, and later Jeet Kune Do, Kali and Kickboxing studying under Sensei Bill. Sensei Malik earned his Advanced level of 2nd Degree Black Belt in just under 4 years of almost daily training. Malik later received his TKJR Full Instructor - Sensei Certification personally from Shihan Bennett.

ABOUT ME:
Sensei Malik is 23 years old, born August 4th 1978. Currently, he is attending Philadelphia Community College to pursue his degree in Registered Nursing and Interpretive Education.
