1. Always bow when entering or leaving the Dojo.
2. No shoes in the Dojo.
3. No eating, drinking, or chewing gum in the Dojo.
4. No foul, obscene, or abusive language.
5. No horseplay.
6. Full uniform is to be worn at all times unless instructed otherwise.
7. Cup, mouthpiece, hand pads, footpads, and headgear must be worn
while sparring.
8. Never use any weapons at or in the studio without permission.
9. All uniforms and belts are to be taken home daily (unless you
are an instructor). The studio is not responsible for your belongings.
10. Toenails and fingernails are to be kept trimmed and clean.
11. When you tie your belt or adjust your uniform in front of a
black belt, always turn away.
12. Hakamas must be worn while using a bladed weapon.
13. You will only be permitted to use the weapons and supplies
purchased at White Dragon Studios since we are responsible for what
we sell. If you get a weapon somewhere else do not bring it to or
use it in the Dojo.
14. Missing a private without calling or canceling will cause you
to lose it. You will then be required to pay for any future privates.
15. When speaking to a black belt, always use the term "Sensei"
- this means "teacher". Same goes for Sempai.
16. Never say "Ya" or "Huh" etc. to a black
belt. It is correct to say "Yes, Sensei", "No, Sensei",
"I don't understand, Sensei" etc.
17. Be courteous toward all students and instructors.
18. All students must have a White Dragon notebook regardless of
age.
19. All students must help keep the Dojo clean.
20. No sparring or weight lifting without permission from Sensei.
21. You must maintain a minimum "C" grade point average
in school. You may be suspended from White Dragon until your average
meets this requirement. Your goal should be a 4.0.
22. If you are under 16, you must bring a copy of your school report
card for your file.
23. All students should have an equipment bag.
24. Dirty uniforms, body odor, and general sloppiness will not
be tolerated. Come clean or you will be required to leave.
25. White Dragon sweatshirts and T-shirts may be worn at the Dojo.
Check with your instructor for uniform code.
26. You may bring one (1) guest (other than a parent) to watch
the class. Only one (1) visit per guest.
27. Parents are encouraged to come and watch your children.
28. If you are late for class or a private, 25 pushups and 25 sit-ups
will be completed before asking permission to enter class.
29. Never talk bad about other instructors or styles of Marital
Arts inside or outside your Dojo. Your style will speak for itself.
"Silence is Golden".
30. Refrain from drinking alcohol, taking illegal drugs, smoking,
etc.. Try to stay healthy and set a good example by your personal
condition and fitness.
31. Say "Good Evening", "Good Morning", etc.
to all Sensei's (black belts) upon entering or leaving the Dojo.
32. Keep politics, religion, and gossip out of the Dojo. We all
have our own opinion on these issues and the Dojo will not be the
place for comments or discussion on any of them.
33. Focus on your martial arts training and the instruction of
your teacher. Remember what the Dojo is and show the respect that
is appropriate.
34. Never lose your temper or pout during sparring or practice.
Your enemy is never in the Dojo. Your temper and anger can be your
greatest and worst enemy.
35. Make the best of your free time. Use it to practice, prepare,
stay in shape and develop self-control.
36. If you need help, ask for it. Never give up or quit. Never
say "I can't". Personalize your training and try not to
compare yourself to any other student. Ability and accomplishment
is what you strive for and achieve in your self.
37. Don't interrupt others. Listen more, talk less.
38. Outside the Dojo your Sensei is still your Sensei. You should
address him with the same respect, never a casual "Hey",
or wave. Always "Hello, Sensei" etc.
39. All instructors will dress and act professional at all times
and will always be in full uniform when teaching.
